Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is present in different levels all throughout the United States and is the second largest cause of lung cancer in the country, responsible for approximately 21,000 lung cancer deaths each year. For this reason, the US Surgeon General and the US Environmental Protection Agency recommend Radon testing be performed on all homes and businesses.
Radon is produced by the decay of radioactive materials such as uranium, and found in different levels throughout the country. Radon is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, and typically occurs in basements, crawl spaces and areas of homes or buildings with poor ventilation. Radon can seep into your foundation through cracks and make its way into your house. It can also get into the water supply of the house and then can make its way into your pipes, drains, faucets, and appliances that use water such as your washer and dish washer.
We are professionally trained, qualified contractors that perform radon testing for residential and commercial customers in Ohio and Michigan. We have all of the necessary equipment to perform comprehensive testing. We will test to insure that indoor air and water supply does not have significant concentrations of radon and is not at any action levels. If high levels of radon are detected, the mitigation method that is commonly used to reduce radon is to install a vent pipe system and fan which pulls the radon from beneath the house and vents it to the outside.
